mazda 3 extreme

If you thought the Mazda 3 is cool, have a look at its extreme version. Mazda has unveiled a tuned version of the high performing Mazda3 at Sydney Motor Show. This car is the third in Mazda’s series of Mazda Performance Systems (MPS).

The new hot-hatch takes cues from the Sports Pack luxury specification to pack in more punch, it just does it better than the conventional model.

Mazda Australia Motorsport Manager Allan Horsley has done a cool job in making the hatch’s conventional 2.3L engine churn out 210kW of power and a maximum torque of 425Nm.

A free-flowing two-inch exhaust system and a sport muffler have also been added to the package.

The car’s suspension has gone down by 25mm for a sportier stance and the standard 18-inch alloy wheels have given way to 19-inch BBS Motorsport wheels, an MPS monogram now adorns the wheel centerpiece.

Extended wheel arches make room for the bigger wheels. Exteriors look hip with a red body colour with black stripes, rear spoiler and tinted windows.

Interiors have black leather trim accentuated by read leather trimmings. The ‘red’ theme continues to the dash, gearshift knob and steering wheel and door trimmings.

Safety systems have disc brakes with ABS and EDS, seat belt reminder, Dynamic Stability Control, Traction Control System and six airbags.
