We all know the eminence of the Paris motor show for the automakers and the auto buffs around the globe. Automakers target this auto show for setting a time period to develop their concepts and production models. To begin with we have Mazda making a significant announcement with regard to their future models.
The company wants to make the buffs zoom-zoom with a new city vehicle, which would be ready for the 2008 Paris motor show. This piece of information was made public by Mazda’s European boss, James Muir.
Another note able statement made by Muir was the Japanese automakers intent to develop a small size SUV based on their popular MX-5. The European boss believes that the future of SUV’s would see them getting lighter and smaller, which has already become an industry trend.
Developing a light weight SUV could be an easier task if they base it on the MX-5 owing to its rear wheel drive terrain. Another important factor could be the use of diesel powertrain, which is also under consideration as per Muir.
The reason for this different thought could be associated to the origin of the company, with other names like Toyota and Honda who have already made it big by working on similar principals.
