Created by Japan-Mazda, the sporty, compact crossover concept vehicle, Mazda Kazamai, is all set to make a grand debut at the Moscow International Automobile Salon (MIAS) on August 26. The name Kazamai literally means “swirling crosswinds” in Japanese, and the expression can be seen in the powerful yet agile built of the stylish and compact crossover. Based on Mazda’s long-term vision for technology development, Sustainable Zoom-Zoom that aims to provide a unique balance between sporty driving fun and superior environmental and safety performance, the concept further evolves Mazda’s ‘Nagare’ design language by fusing Nagare’s ‘flow’ design cues with aerodynamic proportions.

Featuring panel lines inspired by crosswinds in nature which evoke visual lightness, the concept comes laced with a bold five-point grille, accentuated front wheel arches, sleek roof line and large 22-inch wheels that make the four-wheel drive a super-sporty yet super stylish vehicle.

With a power train consisting of a next-generation direct injection engine and a newly developed transmission, the aerodynamic, lightweight body structure of the concept enhances the vehicle’s safety attributes and promises to deliver exciting driving dynamics, frugal fuel consumption and greatly reduced CO2 emissions.
