Now this is not really the sorts of stuff that you would normally associate Mercedes-Benz with. The name normally invokes image of a classy, royal, long black car that is full of grace, style and some amazing bodywork. So the moment you say Mercedes-Benz, Sprinter Vans are not the vehicles that spring to mind. But then, with changing time, I suppose everyone has to change a tad bit. This new van launched by the royal car makers runs on duel fuel.
Mercedes-Benz has just introduced a new dual-fueled version of the Sprinter van that can run on either gasoline or natural gas. The big van is powered by a 156hp supercharged 1.8L four cylinder with 177lb-ft of torque. Mercedes claims the Sprinter NGT has thirty percent lower operating costs than the diesel version thanks to tax breaks on natural gas. The Sprinter is available in wide range of configurations including the panel van shown, low and tall roof cargo vans, and passenger vans. Depending on the body style, up to six CNG tanks can be fitted below the floor providing a range of up to 745 miles. The Sprint NGT will be available starting in May.
This new van comes with wide range of advantages that tell you that Mercedes have indeed put in great deal of effort to make sure that the standards of the vehicle are not compromised an iota. The Sprinter NGT has high fuel efficiency, reduced carbon-emissions, and also comes with plenty of add-ons that customize the Sprinter. It has operating costs that are 30% less than a van operating purely on Diesel and that is thanks to its duel fuel mixture. It also has longer life on road and reduces 20% of CO2 emissions compared to normal petrol driven vans.
The Sprinter is not just a boon for those who own it as it is such an efficient and clean vehicle, but is also an asset to the planet as it helps in reducing both the dependence on fossil fuel and also reduces the emissions that are normally pretty bad in vehicles of this class. Once again, Mercedes-Benz has shown that it is a class above the rest when it comes to delivering the very best.
