While DaimlerChrysler AG and Ford Motor Co witnesses an unwelcome slump in sales, Mercedes-Benz USA, on the other hand, has nothing to worry about. Its recent May report revealed the highest sales record for the company, with 21,621 pieces of new vehicles sold. This figure is an increase of 21.4 percent over last May.
The 2007 S-Class model is the most popular, 2,526 units were sold which is a huge increase of 84.5 percent over last May. 2,283 pieces of SL-Class and SLK-Class roadsters combined were sold, which is a 37.1 percent increase over May 2005.
In the luxury light truck segment — M-Class, R-Class, GL-Class and G-Class - witnessed a whooping 84 percent increase over May 2005.
