This is purportedly an image of the mighty, gull-winged, 571hp supercharged V8 powered 2011 Mercedes SLS AMG that is scheduled for a debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year. There are, however, good chances that a plug-in version of the car will make an appearance in 2015, with 526 horses coming through its electric motors.
The electric version will be able to go from zero to 60mph in just 4.0 seconds and will reach a top speed of 120mph. Batteries for the car are likely to come from Evonik, which has partnered with Daimler. It is not yet clear if the car will have some features from Tesla in which Daimler recently picked a 10% stake.
