It is speculated that Nanjing Automobile Corporation (NAC) is all geared up for the return of MG. The hatch will be based on the Roewe 550 and will likely be named the ZS, to continue the series of names MG followed earlier. Power will come from a 1.8-l engine, which will be available in naturally aspirated and turbocharged versions, to provide the car with 120bhp to 160bhp of power, and possibly a 200bhp trim as well.
The octagon badge will probably make a big return with new models next year, of which the ZS will be the first installment. Cars headed for Europe will be built in the UK, at MG’s traditional facility at Longbridge.
