The US road rage survey conducted by Prince Market Research for the year was released on Tuesday, May 15. Miami consecutively topped the list of worst road rage. The survey aims to increase the safety of the drivers throughout the country.
The drivers who helped Miami to earn this title were reported to slam the brakes and overlook red lights. AutoVantage a Connecticut-based automobile membership club that offers travel services and roadside help reported seeing many drivers speaking on cell phones while driving in Miami.
The cities that topped the list of rude drivers are New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.
According to the survey of 25 cities, the most courteous drivers were found in Portland, Oregon, Pittsburgh, the Seattle-Tacoma area, St. Louis and Dallas-Fort Worth. In 2006 survey Minneapolis-St. Paul was rated the most courteous city however this year it came down to No. 12.
In these cities the main reason for road rage were the restless and impatient motorists. Driving under stress, frustration, anger also contributed to road rage.
Todd Smith the spokesman for AutoVantage said:
The best piece of advice is to take a deep breath. Slow down, be aware and be careful.
