The new MINI Clubman will be available in UK showrooms from November 10. Based on a concept shown in Frankfurt in 2005, the new MINI has been designed to provide comfort to the passengers while maintaining the MINI ‘heritage’.

The Clubman will be available in three variants upon its release — the Cooper, Cooper D and Cooper S. Pricing starts at £14,235 for the Cooper and goes to £17,210 for the Cooper S.

The new MINI is 24cm longer than the hatch, and this gives it a lot more space; the rear seat passengers now have 8cm more of legroom and the boot capacity has gone up to 260 liters.

Clubman has a Clubdoor on the right hand side, in addition to the split rear doors. This is also the first MINI to enter the market with a seating capacity of five.

All three variants of the MINI will be built at Plant Oxford, while the petrol engines will come from Plant Hams Hall in the Midlands.

MINI Cooper gets a VALVETRONIC-inspired 1.6-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine with 120hp and max. torque at 160Nm. Acceleration from 0-62mph takes 9.8 seconds and the car can reach a top speed of 125mph. Fuel economy stands at 51.4mpg for the combined cycle.

Cooper D gets a Four-cylinder turbo diesel with common-rail fuel injection that takes it from 0-62mph in 10.4 seconds with a power of 110hp and 240Nm of torque. Fuel economy stands at 68.9mpg.

Cooper S is powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with direct injection and a twin-scroll turbocharger that endows it with 175hp and 240Nm of torque. The Cooper S can race from 0-62mph in 7.6 seconds and has a top speed of 139mph. The combined fuel efficiency stands at 44.8mpg.
