Chinese automakers are famous for just one thing, and that’s ripping apart established designs to create an entire breed of ‘clone cars’. Since many cars already have oriental clones, China’s Lifan Auto decided it was about time Mini got a Chinese face. So, Lifan Auto came out with its 3-series car. Not only does the car look like a Mini, even its name has been borrowed from BMW’s models.
But as the automaker is likely to contend, this car is not a replica of the Mini, why, it has five doors while the Mini gets along with three. Even the headlamps and tail lamps of the Chinese three series look strikingly similar to those in the Mini. Lifan Auto’s 3-series will go on sale in China within a few months.
