In appearance, the MinuteMan Concept seems too overstated and loud to reckon with. However, we share a great appetite for anything that appears to be roadable, and with this conceptual vehicle delivering the ultimate punch to push the limits beyond the defined boundaries, there wasn’t a way we were going to miss this one. Designed with the traffic scenario in Boston in mind, the designer has worked the MinuteMan into a car that can be changed from an open configuration to a closed position in well under a minute – a possibility that gave the vehicle its name.
The open configuration allows for a smooth ride on the highway, and when entering the city, you can convert the vehicle into a short-wheelbase in a minute’s time, and have it in the closed position with each axle 19s individual electric motors. The electric motor cuts out carbon footprints while the compact size makes it easy for the driver to zip through the heavy traffic on city roads. It is good for two passengers and has storage compartments on the sides. The MinuteMan concept has definitely got me hooked – hope it makes to the road, to live up to our roadable dream.
