Mitsubishi Motors Corp. is all set to release their new flexible fuel cell car in the current year. The new car will be able to run both on gasoline/ ethanol or the mixture of both.
This FFV or Flexible Fuel vehicle uses the reading taken from the exhausted gases to alter the mixture of the fuel according to Oxygen content emitted. Similarly even the ignition spark can also be altered to the changing fuel ratio and amount of oxygen being exhausted by the vehicle.
The car will conform to the already existing emission norms and can handle ethanol in the ratio between 0 to 100 per cent.
A similar project is also going on in US and the car will be ready by the year 2009.
