While automakers around the world are preparing for the Frankfurt Motor Show, Mitsubishi is gearing up for the Tokyo Motor Show. Mitsubishi Motors today announced that it will display three concepts at the Tokyo Motor Show. Along with the Concept-cX, iMiEV Sport and Concept-ZT will be displayed.

iMiEV Sport is a zero emission electric vehicle. This 2+2 seater is built with an aluminium space frame to keep it light, yet strong. A powerful lithium-ion battery powers the vehicle. The front wheels have in-wheel motors while the rear wheels are driven by a single motor.

Exterior has a pearlescent paint and a ‘fastback’ design, which may not translate into happy rear-seat passengers. S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control) coupled with in-wheel motors makes the concept fast and gives it adequate power. It comes equipped with auxiliary photovoltaic generator on the roof, a power-generating fan in the front grill and regenerative braking function to make the best of available energy.

Mitsubishi calls Concept-ZT ‘ultimate tourer’ (Z means ultimate and T stands for tourer!). This concept comes in a package that does look like a real car.

ZT comes loaded with technology like pre-crash safety system, lane-drift warning, all-around multi-monitors and parking assistance system. Presence of a pop-up hood adds to the safety aspect of the concept.

Exterior looks good with powerful shoulder lines, projecting fenders, sculpted headlights and aluminum wheels.

Powered by a 2.2L four-cylinder DOHC engine, that churns out a power of 140kW and a torque of 400Nm, this concept remains soft on environment and fuel usage while giving a good power rating.

Concept-cX will debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This concept is a crossover and is designed to carry forward Mitsubishi’s legendary SUV experience. Click here to read more about it!
