For the first time in its history, Hot Wheels looked at designers outside its office to create new designs. It wasn’t a free for all, Mattel chose designers only from leading auto makers, Mattel also decided to show off these concepts at SEMA.
Mitsubishi Double Shotz created by MRDA employee is among the seven hot designs Hot Wheels raked up through this endeavor. The Double Shotz concept has a cool design with the engine of Mitsubishi Evolution X. A number of concepts from other hotshots of the auto industry will also end up in Hot Wheels lineup to be released in spring 2008.
