Are you a keen car-enthusiast? If yes, chances are that you are still of the idea that the Ford Motor Company still churns out about the best cars that hit the road, right? There is certainly no doubt about the quality of cars produced by the world’s third largest automaker, but frankly, there are cars that are better than the Ford models.
The GAZ 59037A (the civilian version of Russia’s GAZ BTR 80 armored troop carrier) is one such model, which can definitely beat the Ford F650 when it comes to appearance, style or utility. This Russian vehicle sports a sombre, military air, and has all the modern car facilities, including DVD player, fold flat seating arrangements and panoramic skylights. The car runs on a supercharged V8 that boasts of an impressive 260 hp of power. It has almost a half-meter ground (475 mm) clearance space ( which has a sophisticated floating system), and its torque is a cool 578 lb. ft. The car, when fully loaded, has a mass of 14000 kgs. It has two fuel tanks, with a combined fuel capacity of 600 litres.
Another feature of the GAZ 59037A is its central tire inflation system, making the vehicle convenient, and adding to its utility. The vehicle is 7.5 metres long, 2.95 metres wide and has a height of 2.55 metres, and has a top speed of 110 km/h.
