VW employees ran out of ideas and delegated the power to name new vehilces to the public at Autobild. Autoblog also conducted the poll and came out with top 5 names for the latest VW SUV.
Nanuk: Eskimo for small polar bear. 421 votes
Namib: a desert in Namibia. 119 votes
Rockton: a play on the word ‘rock’ and its strength. 245 votes
Tiguan: a combination of the words ‘tiger’ and ‘iguana’. 334 votes
Samun: a hot desert wind that blows in North Africa and some Arabian countries. 356 votes
The lucky winner gets to keep the SUV when it goes on sale next year in Europe.

Recently, I got the rare opportunity to interview the adept designer Leonid Lucenko who is a Venezuelan lad. Born on 24th August 1983, Leonid came up with the unique concept of SPIRIT- an electric vehicle that is emission free, but the fact that renders this concept an element of uniqueness is that this EV is a cross between a bike and a car.
