997 rsr

Good news for all you Porschsters. Your favorite racer, the 997 RSR is pending a powerful upgrade for its participation in the GT2 category in the 2008 season. The new RSR followed up well in the footsteps of the 997 GT3 Cup S, by living up to its promise in the hectic 2007 season, notching up victories at the 24-hour Lemans, Spa and Nuerburgring 24 hours racing events. Primary changes can be seen in the new racer’s front aerodynamics along with the Sachs suspension being given a greater range of adjustability. The 3.8L Boxer engine has received minor modifications to achieve 465bhp at 8000 rpm, with maximum torque of 430Nm at 7250 rpm. Top engine speed has seen fixed at 9400 rpm while the sequential 6-speed gearbox has been made to be lighter than earlier versions to achieve maximum efficiency with input from the design used in the RS Spyder. Unfortunately, only 35 of the ravishing beauty will be produced by Porsche and you have to be a major racecar driver to lay your hands on this 349,800 € puppy.
