Finally, the new Scuderia Spider 16M, a roadster version of the 430 Scuderia, was unveiled at the annual finals at its Mugello circuit in northern Italy. As compared to the 430 Scuderia, 16M faced omission of a few parts like floormats and other measures that made it 80 kgs lighter than the basic model. Further, it included a customized Apple iPod Touch into the center dock in front of the dashboard and faster shifting 6-speed twin clutch transmission for uninterrupted power transfer. As announced by Ferrari itself, it will be available in ‘tricolore’ colour scheme as part of the Carrozzeria Scaglietti personalisation programme.
A 503bhp V8 engine and 430 highly tuned direct injection 4.3-liter power unit gives it a stunning speed of 100km/h in just 3.7 seconds. With a top speed of 196, it offers an awesome open-air driving experience.
