Ferrari is working on reducing carbon dioxide emissions from its cars to cope with the stringent CO2 regulations that will come in effect by 2012. Echoing this effort, Ferrari’s powerplants will face certain downsizing attempts. The latest buzz is that Ferrari’s next Enzo will get a V8. Ferrari’s technical director has said that they are developing a V8, along with a 6.0L V12 for the supercar.
The engine is likely to pump out 900hp for this supercar and we may see an amazing weight to power ratio if Ferrari uses the technology it showcased in the Mille Chile concept and manages to keep the weight under 2,200 lbs.
