Nissan GT-R will not show up in UK dealerships before March 2009, but gearheads there really want to drive this car. There were possibilities of GT-R being imported from Japan, where it is already on sale, this would not only allow motorists to drive the GT-R, but these grey market imports also provided for some cost savings. As is obvious, Nissan is not amused by the idea.

Nissan lawyers are busy writing letters to businesses that are suspected of importing and offering the GT-R in Europe. Nissan says it has not allowed imports of the GT-R to these areas and such businesses involved in these activities are liable for trademark infringement. Nissan further says that a proper dealership network, parts supply and trained technicians for the GT-R will not be available by March 2009. Moreover, the imported GT-Rs will not be covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. If the said businesses do not play along Nissan, the company is looking at legal rights to do the same.
