This probably is not so much of a brand new unveiling as it is a mere extension of an old concept. But then every new vehicle that is an improved version of the old one needs to mentioned as an unveiling as it deserves its own place in the footnotes of ‘Auto History’. The all new Qashqai+2 is nothing more beyond an extension of the famous previous version of the car. It is a mere addition of seating capacity from the old version which allows the new version of the car to seat 7 people inside it.
Yes, that is exactly the reason why they have just added +2 to the name to make sure that you do not get too confused with your math like I do often. Now that is clever indeed! Seriously speaking, this is the news hot in from Europe; a place where the vehicle has been a far bigger hit than anywhere else on the planet. The problem for now is that there is not a lot of information beyond this that is coming from Nissan. Maybe this is an effort to make the Qashqai+2 finally popular in its homeland!
Early reports suggest that the car is just going to be altered in a minor fashion to extend the two extra seats and there will be no major altercations otherwise. Technically speaking our +2 is identical to the original Qashqai. It will receive the same power train and be available with either a diesel or gasoline engine, and with a standard gear box, automatic, or CVT transmission. The company is trying to get more competitive in the market by adding the extra space and one hopes it works out for them.
