Sounds unbelievable, but that is possibly true. The International Herald Tribune says buyers are not exactly making a beeline for this speed devil. A top notch among the fastest and hottest cars in the world, only 300 Veyrons are slated to go into production.

Out of the 300 Veyrons that will reach the road, roughly half are still unsold. Price can be considered as one of the factors for slow sales, the supercar bears a super price tag of $1.4 million; another reason may be that its roots lie with a ‘people’s car company’, Volkswagen. This is a reason good enough for brand snobs for not buying a Veyron.

Bugatti Veyron is one of the most powerful and fastest cars the world has known. Powered by a 1001hp W16, the car claims a top speed of a whopping 253mph. An engineering wonder that demands such perfection that Michelin had to create specific tyres for this beast to run on, and of every 100 windshields produced, merely five are found to be usable.

Bugatti Veyron has held the title of being the fastest production car in the world for a long time, but now SSC Ultimate Aero TT has wrested the record. Reports also say Koenigsegg wants to have the title back and is preparing the CCX with a top speed in excess of 245mph.
