Most of you would have accidentally bumped the car in front of you when trying to park your car in a narrow space. But now Bosch has come to rescue with their latest invention a Parking Assistant.

The device judges the open spaces and then tells you whether you can actually park your car in the space provided without damaging your or some other cars or not.

The Citroen C4 Picasso will be the first car to be integrated with the technology. The technology is easy to operate. Whenever the driver wants to park he just switches on the system with a button on the steering wheel. The system gets to know which side you want to park using the signal lights. The technology then takes use of many ultra sound sensors that are attached on to the front, sides and the rear of the car. All the driver has to do is to cruise along at a speed of 20Kmph while the sensors judge the space that is required to park your car. The assistant then informs the driver via a central display whether the gap is small or large enough for the car.

The main positive point of the system is that it will not raise the cost of your car by much and it also has some scope for improvement.

Bosch is planning some more enhancements for the assistant. They are planning that the future system will control the steering wheel while parking and the driver will just have to handle the gas and the brake.
