Its not very often in the racing world that you will find a bike like the custom crafted Café Rouge that was hand built by Larry Houghton. In fact, in today’s world of high octane racing, you will never find a bike that is shaped like the Custom Café and this one seems to have placed style, glamour and unique body work above actual speed and performance in the race. When you choose to make such a sacrifice, I guess it should be something that would look better for a joy ride or in the showcase than on the track.

The Café is designed with more style in mind and its very feeble engine with not much going for it in terms of design or style. The wheels are 21 inch front and 23 inch rear with a 130 width tire out back. Everything is adjustable, rake from 25 to 38 deg, seat height and rear ride height. There is extensive use of acrylic in the bike and that gives it the very blingy touch. The transparent look and the feel of owning a piece of history would be good enough to sell this bike, but the fact that it did so poorly on track made sure no one ever tried following these wheels again!
