For whatever reason, my childish brain always thought that trucks that transport nuclear weapons and other similar (hazardous) things would sort of look different than the ones we see on the road. Well, spoiler alert they don’t look all that different. That probably makes sense, because you don’t really want to get all the attention in the world when you are on the road with a freakin’ nuclear weapon.
These photos were obtained by Friends of the Earth group based in Columbia, South Carolina under the Freedom of Information Act request. The Department of Energy states that these trucks are specially built on 18-wheel rig that incorporates various deterrents to unauthorized removal of cargo, and other safety measures.
