
It is official; the Frankfurt auto show is going to witness the launch of the new Peugeot 308 hatchback, along with this, a different associate from the same 308 lineup, the 308 SW Prologue concept car will also make an appearance. And according to the company the concept car will shortly make it into the market.
Peugeot created history and took motoring to a whole new level with the launch of SW concept back in the year 2002. Since then the concept is available in many of the other models. The SW stands for realism with adaptability, making a particular car to adapt with the needs of its user.
With the arrival of SW design there came series of offerings, a panoramic glass roof on to the production models, which made the interiors brighter then ever before and with it came the unparalleled feeling of freedom and visibility, specially for the passengers at the rear end. It took driving delight to the next level combined with riding comfort for the passengers and a whole lot of carrying capacity.
The Peugeot 308 SW Prologue concept has its bid for the Peugeot 308’s face while keeping the originality in its design at the rear, giving a space for a third row. The concept has shown a confidence in the potential of 308 hatchback, maintaining the individuality of its own personality. It took the connotation of SW to several new horizons.
Forward positioning of windows in the sides and unique rear quarter light windows create vitality that is rare for this segment. The windows offer good visibility for the passengers seating in the third row. The car has aluminum colored roof bars adding a dash of elegance for the overall design. The rear features a bold design based on the idea of wrap around single piece rear tailgate glass that offers rear access even when the tailgate is close.
Interiors lay emphasis on sophisticated lifestyle, featuring some high quality work done with linen and sandstone colored silk on the seats and door trims, door handles, instruments and air vents have some good finishing worked out with sprayed nickel. Its panoramic glass roof offers a vivid and fresh ambiance. In all it is a classy but simple and perfect new interior which offers a warm and refined atmosphere.
The interior design is a fine blend of flexibility and practicality; the result is a highly adaptive design. The vehicle is capable to adapt to almost any likely situation which the users might come across. The vehicle has been equipped with individual rear seats, which are identical in size and can be folded, removed and fitted in many different positions in the rear of the vehicle. Its second row is capable to lodge three seats with diverse spacing potential. These seats can also be put up in the third row. For maximum expediency, third row is capable to put up with an extra occasional seat which has a specific design, making the vehicle just right for seven people. Its front passenger seat can also get folded into desk configuration allowing a maximum load length of three meters as and when required.
The concept car is powered with a 2.0 liter HDi DPFS 100kw engine equipped with additive-enhanced diesel particular filter system (DPFS). The HDi DPFS system ensures the car to be an environmental friendly vehicle, with reduced CO2 emissions and complete eradication of particulate emissions.
