Police in USA have started using a new siren to control traffic. The new siren does not shriek like the one we are used to, but it shakes the ground to get the motorists’ attention.
The siren projects inaudible sound waves that are powerful enough to shake the ground with an effect that can be felt upto 60meters ahead. Police in Washington DC, where it is currently being used call this siren ‘Rumbler’ and police squads across the US are twitching to have a go with the new siren.
Loud wails of sirens get ignored or missed out in dense traffic or due to loud stereos, this one though, will be tough to ignore. The police now have a stereo system you can feel but cannot hear!
