The Beast:
The Prius is already a huge hit and is without doubt the most talked about car in the auto world at the moment. A young computer whiz from San Francisco decided to take the Prius a step up the ladder and make it a vehicle that does not need a driver. This automated Prius was spotted on the streets of San Francisco and this unmanned car was created by 28 year old Anthony Levandowski.
The Machine:
The “Pribot” uses a combination of GPS, inertial guidance, and a pair of infrared lasers to navigate without any human help. It uses a pre-set 3D map and scans the surroundings around it to reach to the destination that has been pre-programmed. Apart from the automation technology, everything else remains the same as in the Prius.
The Thrill:
The Pribot is surely a concept for the future that will materialize and take shape in the next decade. There is plenty of money waiting to be made in this part of automobile industry and as the technology evolves, the transition to unmanned cabs will happen with ease. Anthony though is hoping that he gets a lion’s stake of this future industry!

Unmanned cars are surely going to be a great success. Sometimes while driving, I feel like sitting back and enjoying the ride.
