One of the rarest motor cars built by Daimler-Benz in 1948 is up for sale at Duttondirect.com. The 1948 MERCEDES-BENZ A 320 - W 142 is a product of the post war luxury passenger car production drive called forth in the late 40’s. Therefore, if you want a car that goes back to Hitler’s era then I believe this would satisfy the subtle retro taste you have been dying to nurture. It is believed that only 1 piece of this model have been made.







What amazes me most is the retention of its original condition even after all these years. Apparently, a Daimler-Benz employee inspected the car in Australia in late 1988 and so impressed was he that he says ‘it truly was the vehicle the owners believed it to be’.



The two blue tone color schemes, both in the exterior and interior (you can see from the image) has been deliberately reinstated during one of the numerous restorations it went through.



The car was first sold to a Dutch businessman/collector. Later it was shipped to Indonesia where it remained for almost 40 years. Finally, it was purchased and brought to Australia in the late 1980’s where it remains till date.
