RENNtech has managed to squeeze out more juice from the powerful 6.3-liter Mercedes AMG engine. Since this particular engine is naturally aspirated, Renntech decided that the best way to increase its performance would be to give the engine more air to breathe.
The tuners moved on to manufacture new exhaust headers and high-flow sport mufflers plus a new software for engine control in a bid to increase performance and fuel efficiency. The new exhaust pipes are slightly smaller in diameter, when compared to those installed by Mercedes.
This increases the speed of airflow from the engine, at the same time helping to generate more torque at smaller RPMs and better airflow at high RPMs. The exercise lends the engine with 48more horses for power and torque is increased by 50 lb-ft.
RENNtech’s upgrades are available in a package called ‘package 2′ for a cost of $11,450.
