Haven’t we missed him all these days, the automotive world surely looks a better place with him being around. No more curious antics people, Richard Hammond is back, ‘up and running’ for a new season of Top Gear. With his survival and more importantly, redemption, have vanished the ghosts of jeopardy, which had put Top Gear’s future on an uncertain platter.

We know have it confirmed that the ‘Hamster’ will be hosting the new season of this show beginning 28th of January 2007. All that it means is, you can relish your holiday season, come back home after all those blissful catnaps, relax for a while and then get back to work with your weekly dosages of Hamster.

Hammond was recently seen on hand for the filming of the annual awards ceremony, where our beloved Hamster was presented with range of goodies he would probably cherish for his ‘life’, a life that he could have lost but then, destiny drives us all and so did it drive him.

First, his Top Gear colleagues awarded him with the Man of the Year Award, for his dramatic survival and then his miraculous recovery. The toy people from Lebo then presented him with a Toy Replica of the jet car, which spelled doom for him. To add a touch of humor he was also presented a replica of the Top Gear set, complete with puny Hammond, and his other puny on-set folks.

It is amazing, how much this guy means to the entire Top Gear unit. Richard is as it is an audacious human being, which can be judged by the nature of his job, and the way he fought to recover so quickly will always have me writing parables with utmost fervor whenever I get an opportunity next!
