Rinspeed has a number of interesting concepts to its credit, like the James Bond inspired amphibious car sQuba that was displayed at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, and another famed amphibious car, Splash. At the upcoming Geneva Show, Rinspeed is set to display its latest concept, the iChange 1-2-3-seater with “trick-tail”
The highlight of the concept obviously is its “trick-tail”, which can change the car’s shape and the number of passengers. iChange operates in two modes, in the first mode, the car has a teardrop shape and sporty appearance, with seating only for the driver. If there are more passengers, the car can shift to the second mode where the rear rises and provides seats for two more people; converting the sports car into a sports van.
The zero-emission car is powered by a 130kW electric meter. Rinspeed boss Frank M. Rinderknecht says:
If we want to preserve our individual mobility in the future, we have to re-think our conception of cars - above all we need to accommodate the ecological aspects.
