The F1 isn’t dead (yet), but it is as good as dead, with the eight FOTA teams announcing a breakaway world championship for next year. And these aren’t any lightweight teams either, FOTA includes F1 heavyweights like BMW, Brawn, Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, Toyota, Red Bull and Toro Rosso. They’ve been in a deadlock with FIA for a long time now, and seeing no solution in sight, they have announced a breakaway league.

F1 now is left with Williams, Force India and a few other teams, but with the biggies gone, we guess F1 isn’t going to be the giant it was. FOTA will probably walk away with their promoters, sponsors, brands and perhaps even their contracted drivers, leaving very little for F1; which plans to challenge the defection legally.
