Rumors on a second model from Bugatti have been up for long, but this time, they have more substance and sketches, courtesy Auto Motor und Sport. New reports suggest that the second model from Bugatti will be more powerful, faster and expensive as compared to the Veyron. If that happens, here’s a name that is going to rule the roost in the automobile world, just like the Veyron does; Bugatti Lydia.

The model has been codenamed project Lydia after Ettore Bugatti’s wife. If this car actually reaches production, we think Lydia is not a very effective name for a car that is tipped to be more powerful than the mighty Veyron. The new model will be designed for track use but will be street legal.

Likely to be powered by a retuned version of Veyron’s 8-L quad-turbo W16, the Lydia will command a massive 1175 horses. And ofcourse, the Lydia will exceed the 400kmph mark and be faster than the Veyron. Bugatti is looking at Nurburgring lap time of 6 minutes and 40 seconds with this model.

This rumor may end up in the same line as others on Bugatti’s second model. However, if this turns out to be true, 70 units are likely to be put on sale, each carrying a price tag of €2.5 million (that’s a cool $3.7 million folks). So if you have that kind of money, keep your checkbooks ready, this car surely ain’t going to wait for buyers.
