It was the last year when Saleen came up with some fresh innovations for the sports truck segment and now for 2008 model year it is all set with some sparkling new ideas working on the S331 Sports Truck.
The four-door truck version has been named SuperCrew.
As its non supercharged 3-valve version will be taking a permanent off from the market which surely is an out-come of its discouraging sales figures.
The two new versions the SuperCrew and SuperCab comes with a 2.5 inch exhaust system and instead of a side exit, the exhaust it will be placed at the back side of the truck except a side exhaust system which will be available as optional in the SuperCab.
A redesigned supercharger will milk a gruesome 450 horsepower from its existing V8 engine; along with it the engine will be yielding a massive 500lb-ft of torque. Truck comes with a massive towing capacity of around 9,500 lbs.
Both of its versions will come uploaded with Saleen’s patented race craft suspensions with N2 struts, linear-rate coil-over springs, urethane turn bushings and a tubular anti-roll stabilizing bar, a live axle, leaf springs and N2 shockers for the rear end.
Saleen seems much excited with its new launches as the President and CEO of the Saleen Inc. Paul Wilbur commented:
We couldn’t be more pleased with the S331 Sport Truck
Saleen’s S331 will bear a price tag of $54,200 and according to the companies claims it will be having a handsome resale value.
