If you are placing your electronic car key closer to the cellphone then you might be left stranded. According to Nissan North America, customers who are using the new models of its sedans need to place their keys around one inch apart else it would disable their intelligent keys.
These cell phones if placed near intelligent keys of Nissan, it might erase the electronic code on the keys. These wireless devices are mainly designed to enter and start your car just at the push of buttons.
According to the company, the problem occurred on Nissan Altima 2007 and Infiniti G35 sedans. Both of them are the top selling models. Kyle Bazemore, Nissan spokesman stated, that, “We discovered that if the I-Key touches a cellphone, outgoing or incoming calls have the potential to alter the electronic code inside the I-Key,” he further added that, “The car won’t start and the I-Key cannot be reprogrammed.” He also informed that problem only in a very small number of cars.
