Audi’s Metroproject concept did not come alone, it had a mobile device for company; the first such move, a mobile device that comes specifically for a car. Audi’s mobile device integrates with the car and performs the functions you would expect from a mobile phone.
Titled the ‘Audi Mobile Device’, the phone can play mp3s, can be used as an input tool for the navigation system, it can turn on the vehicle and even track it for you, if you happen to forget where you parked it!
This device has a touch sensitive screen and can even decipher handwriting; it can even help you catch the crooks if they steal your car. How? An on-board camera in the vehicle snaps pictures of the intruder and sends ‘em over to the device using a wireless connection.
Many may call it an iPhone clone or a copy of the phone, and yes, it does have an iPhone like interface, but try starting your vehicle’s heating system with the iPhone and you will know the difference!
