Scion has an ambitious programme for the coming summer; the company has made a decision to vary its product range, which no way means that the company is changing its entire product lineup however the company plans to reinstate, two products out of three in its lineup.
First of its refurbished model would be the Scion xB, though the vehicle has retained its boxy looks but the car has shifted to a whole new level alongwith its price tag. The new version is about one foot larger and four inches wider than its predecessor. The vehicle uses a new European Auris compact platform and is motorized by a powerful 2.4 liter engine, running on 16 inch wheels.
A whole lot of work is been done on its interiors which includes cruise control, air conditioning, six air bags, anti skid control system, electric power steering, remote locks, standard four wheel disk break with ABS, traction control system, a six speaker pioneer CD stereo and eight cup holders.
This latest design will come with a price tag of $ 16230 an increase of $1620 from its predecessor.
Its second presentation is the xD which stands firmly on the base of xA. This new version operates on NBC platform shared from Toyota Yaris, with its wheel base 3.6 inches longer than its sibling and an overall 0.5 inches longer and 1.2 inches wider. The vehicle is powered by the company’s 2ZR-FE 1.8-liter four. The vehicle is offered with a four speed automatic and five speeds manual gearshift.
The new scion has been carved out with a great deal of caution, with a huge upload of accessories, very pretty lights for audio system readout, custom lighting for doorsills and cup holders. It also envisages18 inch alloy wheel and a TRD supercharger.
The new Xd will appear in the market in coming august but the pricing has not been made public yet.
Reinstating products has now become a weapon with all the automakers, with the only difference being, that a few choose to offer something new to their customers whilst the rest do it to save their souls, Scion here falls in the latter category but you never know what good fortune these two re-instated products might bring, changing the whole scenario altogether.
