SEAT has now unveiled some fresh pictures and details of its new rugged Altea freetrack, which is scheduled for a debut at the Barcelona Motor Show on 7th of June. This is the first off-roader from the house of SEAT that comes with a Haldex-type four-wheel drive, 40 mm of extra ground clearance and 4×4-inspired body add-on. SEAT claims to offer a lively on-road driving experience with the new Altea freetarck that features a potent 2.0-litre petrol or diesel engine, a 200 PS T FSI and 170 PS TDI.

The 2.0 T FSI model claims a top speed of 133 mph and gets from 0 to 62 mph in 7.5 seconds while the 2.0 TDI has a top speed of 127 mph and takes 8.7 to move from 0 to 62 mph. Amazingly, the fuel economy is imposing at 30 mpg and 41.5 mpg respectively. New and exclusive 17-inch alloy wheels and large tyres add to the overall looks of the exteriors while the interiors have also been designed beautifully.

The Altea freetrack will be sold out with just one trim level after it comes to showrooms in UK this September. The rugged vehicle will boast a roof-mounted 7′ screen with RCA connection that hooks to your DVD player, video game, laptop and even an MP3 player. The vehicle has been designed and developed fully at the SEAT Technical Centre in Martorell.
