shockwave

Introducing Shockwave would be putting this hurricane to shame for one the world knows what Shockwave is and two even if the world doesn’t know, you cant introduce such things, purely because such monsters announce themselves, so all I would do is to give you a miniscule briefing, minuscule atleast by the trait it possesses.

Shockwave is a triple jet-engine truck on a 260-inch (660-cm) wheelbase which currently holds the Guinness record for jet-truck speed at 376 miles per hour (605 kmph). This burning ogre is capable of battling airplanes flying above it at 300 mph.

The engines are positioned in a pyramid formation and tilted at a three-degree angle to help keep the 6,800-pound (3,084 kg) truck on the ground. It uses three Pratt & Whitney J34-48 engines, also used in the U.S. Navy’s T2A Buckeye plane.

These three engines blaze out a total of 36,000 horsepower and 19,000 pounds of push. The outlet of the engine is fitted with a special fuel line that clutches raw diesel fuel to an individually customized burner inside the outlet. The flames and smoke that gives the special effect is the result of raw diesel fuel dumped into the burner.

The front of the truck is the original 1985 Peterbilt cab and is the only part which is not modified. The twin vertical chrome exhaust stacks are modified with piezoelectric igniters for lighting the raw diesel fuel to produce flames.

The truck guzzles 400 gallons per mile during a race and if the afterburner mode is used, the fuel is consumed even faster. Shockwave employs customary truck tires where 85 ponds of tread must be shaved off to cut the burden of and to keep the tread from separating and flying off when traveling at 300 mph.

The brakes used on each wheel are all-wheel, large-diameter disc brakes however without aircraft parachutes its unworkable to slow Shockwave down at the end of a run.

The shockwave jet truck is capable of doing 0 to 300 mph in about 11 seconds.
