The Beast:

Vintage cars are always such a delight to look at. They are like going back in time and flipping the pages of a history book. You always learn something new and something that amazes you despite having existed for such a long time. This Alfa Romeo is pretty famous both as a modern version and as the original one. There is absolutely no match to the aerodynamic brilliance of the BAT and we just revisit that magic once again.

The Machine:

While the Alfa Romeo BAT 11 is capturing everyone’s attention, this one is the original BAT. So, what is so special about this old bullet design? The car has a better drag coefficient than nearly all modern cars. The Cd of the original BAT is said to be 0.19 and that is better than almost all modern day cars. The drag coefficient of modern cars pale in comparison. While the Corvette and the Prius still have drag coefficients in the order of 0.28 and 0.25, the BAT had it all sorted out long back. This makes for less drag and simply superior aerodynamics.

The Thrill:

The Alfa Romeo BAT is indeed loved for its aerodynamic brilliance. Remember that this was achieved in a time when there were no CG models or fancy computer gigs. Just makes you appreciate the talent of the creators.
