Designing a commuting vehicle for the future is all about making it as compact as possible, yet achieving the maximum possible interiors space. Now if you want to design an automated cab that will work for more than one guy at a time then the idea of SmartTravel seems to be pretty sound to say the least. This very special design has been created by Jaxon Douglass to ensure that the cabs of the future or rather the light rail transportation in the next decade sees a better shape and form than it has any time in the past.

The vehicles are small, seating12 people with room for either up to 4 standing or wheelchair access for disabled people. The system provides a hassle free and secure form of service which allows the passengers to select their destination after verification and a vehicle is sent to the waiting bay. A timetable is formed after a period of time as the system gets to recognise travelling trends and provides more service for peak hours of movement. This means that most importantly you will no longer need to listen to the chatter of some of the cab drivers.

The vehicle would be battery powered which would reduce the need for overhead power lines. Recharging would occur when stationary in waiting bays and power is transferred to the batteries through the ground via wireless energy. This also means that the form of commuting would not leave back any carbon footprints and that is great news indeed. The interiors are stylish, wonderful and are as spacious as any. This truly is a fine design to take forward and work on.
