Next week, senior citizens of South City have something to cheer about. The proposal of The Fire Department to utilize biodiesel fuel in one of two Senior Citizen buses will set sail. They will be the pioneers of this movement that has the potential to lead to the Fire Department’s use of alternative fuels for their fleet after 3 months of test.



The scheme is laudable not only for the lower cost of fuel but also for reduced emissions. Besides, biodiesels are believed to be less harmful for engines.
