This is more the commuting vehicle for the future with both utility and compact design that is special and futuristic. It deals with the modern problem of vehicles and cars in a head-on way instead of pushing it under the carpet. In today’s world, most people go to the office and come back in their cars and they are always all alone. In most other cases that is extended to two or at the most three people in the family. The car exactly aims at that by keeping both its design and concept focused on solving one particular solution.

The Space Efficient Vehicle (SEV) was a finalist in the 2008 Michelin Challenge Design, and was put on display at the Detroit Motor Show. It was created by a team from the Netherlands. The vehicle’s inventor and project leader was Ralph Panhuyzen, and the visual designer was Steven van der Veen. Both of them made sure that the concept was translated in to reality. The idea behind the SEV, as the name suggests, is to use the space the vehicle takes up more efficiently. Realizing that the vast majority of vehicles carry just one person on a regular basis the SEV was designed to reflect this fact. The SEV has room for 3 people in total but with little wasted space between.

The SEV is not exactly a car as it sports just three wheels and the sleek and slender design of the vehicle allow it to both function beautifully from an aerodynamic point of view and also it also improves the efficiency and the mileage of the vehicle. What is under the hood or what could eventually end up there is anyone’s guess. But ideally it would be a highly efficient engine which uses a green fuel for zero-emissions. The design, concept and the execution win full points just for the simple and specific nature that the SEV carries.
