BMW is developing an all new model which got caught on photos during first tests in the streets of Munich.
The pictured prototype is still under heavy disguise, however, it reveals a sloping hatchback, which is quite similar to the just launched X 6, but with more headroom for the rear passengers. BMW just dubbed ‘V-Series,’ however, with this new model they seems to produce a sportier car than a van, which will be more elegant and more luxurious car offering lots of space and comfort without the aura of a middle class family van.
The newcomer is based on the future new BMW 5-series platform, thus saving production and development costs. Scheduled for launch by the end of next year, the car is expected to get power from 3.0 liter six cylinder engine delivering 272 HP , 286 HP (Twinturbo-Diesel) and 231 HP (Turbodiesel).
The top of the line version 550i might get the future direct-injection V 8 delivering 420 HP. A four wheel drive variant could come on the market later.
