The world now has a new car at the top spot among fastest cars in the world. Ultimate Aero TT has finally broken Koenigsegg CCR’s official top speed record of 242mph and Bugatti Veyron’s unofficial top speed record of 253 mph as well. Ultimate Aero Twin Turbo supercar is now the fastest production car in the world with a top speed of 255mph.

This beast with 1183hp is 3.11 mph above the Bugatti Veyron’s unofficial top speed. To be regarded ‘official’ under Guinness World Records’ guidelines, the vehicle must race down the course, turn around and make a second pass in the opposite direction within one hour. The top speed is calculated by averaging vehicle velocity under each pass so as to minimize effects of any favourable road or weather conditions.

Ultimate Aero TT’s speed in the first pass was 257.11mph and 254.55mph in the return journey, comfortably past the previous official as well as unofficial records. A number of satellites and on-board sensors monitored the speed of the vehicle, and an independent firm monitored the progress.
