It was a hazy winter morning when you were in a rush to reach some place fast, you sat inside your car and as you put the keys into the ignition; you discovered that the ignition gave up. Now that happens with all of us at some point in time or the other and if it hasn’t happened with you, consider your self to be lucky but that would only be for a while because one day or the other this occurrence would duly take place.
The general misconception is that this happens mostly with the vintage car models as starting problem is a thing long gone by, but tell you what, it is a misconception and nothing more as a recent survey confirms.
The survey reveals that after three four years of use, ignition problems are the most common in a majority of new cars, along with axle and suspension faults, that together have scored fame in giving the owner a tough time.
Fuel and ignition systems, along with axle and suspension faults have the highest failure rate as the car moves out of the protection of manufacturers three-year warranty programme.
Breaking systems try and trouble you after six years of continuous use. The chances of failure shoot-up from a minimal 1.3% for four years to as high as 3.2% or 1 out of 10 in case of some auto manufacturers.
Vehicle cooling system can be the most relied upon among all as it probably needs to be worked upon in the eighth year compared to fourth in other cases.
The study quiet clearly reveals that the moment your car celebrates its fourth anniversary, ignition problems become inevitable and although you believe it’s a minor problem, its something you should accustomed to and the only remedy is the garage.
