If it were upto the students of the Istituto Europeo di Design, Barcelona, the taxi will soon replace the dog and become a man’s best friend! The idea revolutionizes both, the driver’s space as well as the passenger space to make the ride more interactive and entertaining. It was based on the foundation that one should create interface systems with a whole array of information, mobility and service facilities.
The driver’s area was fixed with a windscreen displaying practical information of sorts alongwith a dashboard and two touch-control panels for the primary and secondary controls. The passenger area, spacious for three, was fixed with a versatile touchscreen to enable one to browse the Internet, play games or obtain information.
This seems like an idea as this BCN Taxi was a response to the current status of taxis which is seen as neither user nor pocket-friendly and also highly inflexible. The young blood is needed in every industry, and who knows? This project for a master’s degree might just become the face of tomorrow’s cab-industry.
