It seems like the Thai’s are more comfortable with small ones. Subcompact or B-segment cars are the winners here and it has been predicted that it will be the most important and fastest-growing sector in Thailand towards the end of the decade.
Currently, Toyota and Honda rule this section. Their Toyota Soluna, Honda City, Yaris, Jazz are a big hit and other doing-well ones besides them are the Citroen C3 and Suzuki Swift. And once Chevrolet launches the Aveo saloon, there is a possibility of it doing rather well too. Ford, when it launches The Brazilian Fusion mini-SUV EcoSport would do well too.
However, some companies believe that should there be no tax aids for cars smaller than subcompacts then the segment will get more sophisticated over the next 5-6 years.
