British army has added Mad Max Monster a four ton monster truck to its weaponry. It looks more like a vehicle from one of Mel Gibson’s Mad Max movies, specially designed to take on insurgents in the battlefields.

This weapon is expected to get a battle field nod ahead early following which next year the ministry of defense will be buying 130 of these Mad Max Monsters, which can do 80mph. It is powered by a 5.9-liter turbo engine with a capability of three or four troops.

In Iraq and Afghanistan, if the army troops go out for patrolling no one could even make any probabilities from where and when will the terrorists strike. And the now used Land Rovers have no adequate security against bombers. British and other NATO troops are being targeted by roadside bombs and daily firefights.

Due to some Hippocratic, so called Islamic leaders who are misleading innocent people for their own personnel benefits, troops in the battle field have seen too many innocents and fellow officers massacred by bombs, savage off springs, by prowling psychotic Taliban Militia and Iraqis for whom killing, and fighting for is the a way of life. Their main motto is Jihad and they are brainwashed that if you sacrifice your life for this cause you will directly be welcomed to Allah’s heaven. Iraq’s and Afghanistan’s outback have become bloodstained battlegrounds.

The British Troops certainly need protection against such psychedelic people and the Mad Max Supacat is an outcome of the search of the British Army, who is always on the lookout for using technically avant- garde vehicles, making it easier for the troops to trounce the enemies.

The supacat will be mounted with a military hardware which includes a grenade machine gun with a firing capacity of 340 rounds per minute, targeting upto 1 mile radius, 7.62 mm-caliber general machine gun, firing 750 rounds per minute with the same targeting radius. In addition they also have a 0.5in-calibre heavy machine gun firing huge rounds at a speed of 485 to 635 rounds per min.

From the critical aspect it can leave a lot to desire for. Primarily the main focus should be crew protection which doesn’t seem to be and exposed crew and drivers can lead to more of IED casualties .Its second drawback can be that the vehicle seems to be a road only weapon because I don’t think that there is a lot of clearance in between the fender and the wheel. As far as I know Afghanistan has more of rugged terrains, which obviously demarcates the aforesaid as a flaw.

It seems that the main focus was budget .Let’s hope it does well for what it is and also from its looks it seems to be a fast moving hit and run kind of vehicle. it has a lot of fire power and advanced technology attached to it in comparison to the compatriots. Hope it works out well for the troops.
